As climbers in the Willamette Valley, we strive to preserve climbing areas for future generations. To ensure future access, our current actions are crucial.
Understand that our influence matters. Whether in-person at the crag or digitally, we strive to be conscientious of our actions by respecting others, ourselves, and climbing areas.
Consider others
Be mindful of noise levels, wait our turn in crowded areas, share the crag with others, and respect the natural environment around us. Clean up the area after we've finished our session.
Have minimal impact
Make sure to leave areas better than we found them. Clean our tick marks and brush holds after use. Be mindful of surrounding natural areas, wildlife, and ecosystems by sticking to established trails. Respect that different crags have different ethics.
Respect access regulations
Adhere to the access rules or guidelines established by landowners, land managers, and park authorities. Understand that every property and public land, and our use of them, is different.
Prioritize safety
Use appropriate gear, check our knots, and ensure that our communication with climbing partners is kind and clear.
Be kind
Respect that everyone is having their own unique experience. Help if others are in need. Seek to return items found at the crag rather than keeping them as "booty". And we don't remove hanging draws from routes.
*Be sure to check our climbing area closures page for current closures, reopening or changed operations. Always plan ahead for your trip by checking directly with the land manager website or ranger station before your visit to confirm access and any current restrictions.
