Winter 2026
The application period to join the board of the Willamette Area Climbers Coalition (WACC) has closed for 2026. Applications are accepted annually (typically in late January/early February) for board seats up for election (5 seats in even years, 6 seats in odd years).
Are you passionate about Willamette area climbing?
Do you have skills that can be used to support a growing organization or help steward our local crags?
Maybe you are looking for a way to give back to the community?
This is your opportunity to join a group of passionate local climbers who are working to cultivate access, stewardship and community in the Willamette Area.
The WACC Board of Directors consists of 9 board members (expanding to 11 in 2026), who meet monthly and serve a 2 year term. Board members are elected by WACC members for open seats each year.
Our board members are all volunteers and, although we are required to have a traditional hierarchical structure with a President, VP, Treasurer, etc., we maintain a collaborative decision making structure, with shared power between board members, and an openness to partnering with other community organizations and climbing organizations. We have members living in Eugene and Corvallis and would welcome representation from folks around the Willamette Valley (excluding Portland area).
Requirements for Board Members include:
- Must be a current general member of WACC ($25/year)
- Attend monthly meetings regularly (typically Tuesday evenings)
- Attend organizational events and table for WACC when possible
- Lead or participate in the planning of events or committee work related to long term projects
Interested parties should send a short bio that includes a description of interest, relevant experience, and any potential conflicts of interest to bod@willametteclimbers.org
This bio will be sent to WACC members who will then have the opportunity to vote for filling open board seats.
Once voting closes, we will announce the results. New board members will officially join at the following board meeting.
Interested candidates are asked to send in applications no later than February 13, 2026
Email applications to bod@willametteclimbers.org
